Running Chaski Hostel

The private room we booked was really cramped, though it looked just like the photos, so that wasn't a surprise. The reception lady was very friendly and shared lots of tips for other places we planned to visit in Bolivia when we checked out. There are plenty of nice common areas on the first and third floors, with decor and atmosphere among the best we've seen in Latin American hostels. The location is central, with several restaurants nearby. We took a short InDrive ride from the bus terminal for 15 BOB.

The staff are precious, and the common areas are especially good. There are lots of little corners and outdoor seating, with restrooms and plenty of electrical outlets, which is perfect for working and well suited to Cocha's nice weather.

The three outdoor areas made it easy to relax by ourselves or hang out with other travelers. It had a social, friendly vibe and lots of backpackers, but wasn't a party hostel. The workers were kind and welcoming, and went out of their way to help with anything we needed. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh-squeezed juice, an egg, bread and marmalade, cut fruit, and cereal with yogurt and milk. We LOVED staying at the Running Chaski hostel. It was one of our favorite places so far, and we didn't want to leave!

After a long bus day, we got a really warm welcome at Running Chaski. The woman who greeted us showed us around and told us about the building's history. It’s a comfortable, clean hostel with a lovely smell, good beds, a fully equipped kitchen, a TV room, and plenty of spots to relax in the garden or hammocks. Breakfast was included and delicious, the shower was hot, and the Wi-Fi worked pretty well. We also used the laundry service at 20bob per kg, and our clothes came back smelling great. It’s about an 8-minute drive from the bus terminal. My only suggestion is to add a bin to the shared room. One of the best hostels in Latin America!
