At reception they said there was no booking under our name. We later found out in the Hostelworld app that the hotel had cancelled it at 5:00 PM on our arrival day, without giving a reason. We still haven't got our deposit back.

The rooms we had booked through Hostelworld weren't available when our group of six arrived. We had reserved a private room for two and a four person dorm, but were put in two different rooms with three people in each instead. The room I stayed in smelled awful from the bathroom and had a big patch of mold in one corner. Then at checkout, the owner didn't acknowledge the deposit we'd already paid through Hostelworld. Not a pleasant stay.

The one good part was breakfast, which was fresh and plentiful. Everything else was a mess. Our room had gone to a large family who'd announced they were coming, and the woman said we should have paid ahead, though the booking on booking.vom didn't say that. We were sent next door to Skylake, where we paid more for a room without a private bathroom. Hours passed before one of the three toilets in the building could be used. They were filthy with urine and feces. The toilet on our floor wouldn't flush, so we had to use a broken bucket, and the bathroom stayed flooded. The shower had no water either. Staff didn't seem to care and made us feel unwelcome when we asked for the cleaning that was badly needed. Our room was dirty too, with fingernails on the floor and hair on very stained sheets. We hate leaving a bad review, but from what we experienced, we can only advise against booking here.

They cancelled our booking at the last minute, which was so frustrating. We managed to find another hotel, but that wasn't easy on December 31st. We were really annoyed... 🤯
