Hotel Osho

The room was quiet despite the hotel's busy street, since ours faced the inner courtyard. It was bigger than a typical hotel room, clean, and had effective AC, a comfortable bed, a cold fridge, and a well-designed open closet. The private sauna fit 3-4 people, though it took at least an hour to heat, so turn it on well ahead. I would've liked a small couch or large chair, as there was room, and brighter lighting over the bathroom mirror. Breakfast leaned heavily toward carbs, with several breads, fruit, freshly squeezed juice, cereal, and sweetened yogurt, but there was also cheese, sliced meat, and eggs made fresh. The watermelon looked too old to me. Staff at the desk and the cleaning team were friendly and helpful; when my key stopped working, they fixed it quickly. The pool is tiny, fine for a quick dip but not for kids to play. The hotel is mid-sized and near central Santa Cruz, about a 10-minute drive or 30-minute walk from the main plaza. Restaurants are plentiful nearby and there's a grocery store across the street. All considered, I'd stay again.
