Casa Verde B&B

As a solo woman traveller who likes quiet, I felt right at home here. This was one of my favourite hostels in South America. From what I saw, it mostly attracts couples and pairs of friends, so it may not suit anyone looking for a social place. The single room was spacious, clean and had plenty of hooks and storage. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was a good size. The shower was one of the best I’ve had, with reliably hot water and great pressure. Breakfast was lovely too, with bread, eggs, granola, tea or coffee, juice and fresh fruit. The fruit changed daily, which was a great touch. There are pretty outdoor patios where you can sit quietly and unwind. I didn’t use the pool, but it looked lovely. The whole place was clean and well looked after, and the staff were kind and always ready to help with questions, a taxi or advice. One thing to keep in mind is the noise some evenings. On certain nights, the breakfast area becomes a bar, with music and people sitting in the central patio courtyard. Lots of rooms, mine included, face that area, so people talking can get loud right outside. I have good earplugs, so it didn’t bother me personally. Great value, and I’d love to come back.
