The hostel is in a great location, but I found bedbugs in three different beds. In the end, I had to sleep on the floor.

The Spanish classes through the hostel were personal and wonderful. Paola was thoughtful and helpful, and Maribel was the best Spanish teacher I’ve had. I’d recommend them!

I wouldn’t recommend this hostel after what happened. I got there at 1:30 a.m. and waited half an hour for reception to let me in, despite knocking, ringing the bell, and calling the WhatsApp numbers. If you book a hostel, you expect to get through the front door with the key they gave you, or at least be able to get back in safely when you need to.

The hostel was okay, though our double room, called chocolate, smelled a bit and the bed was alright. The receptionists were friendly, but couldn’t answer many of our questions. We stayed during carnival, when everything was different. We arrived around 4 a.m., and it was really helpful that there was a night receptionist who opened the door when we rang. We could wait in the common area and use the toilet and shower, which was handy since many buses arrive early in the morning.

The location is very good, and the receptionists were really nice and helpful. But mornings in the dorm were so noisy that it was hard to rest. They only change the sheets if someone has stayed in the same bed for more than three nights. Otherwise, they apparently leave them as they are after a guest checks out, and don’t seem interested in changing that. I wondered why I had spots on my face. Now I know.
