Hotel San Felipe

I liked everything here. The staff were nice, the location was great, and the rooms were clean. The rooftop terrace was great too, and breakfast had a good range of choices 🌞

The breakfast was great, and the younger staff, cleaning ladies, and breakfast ladies were really nice. But the people running the place ruined the stay for us. My mom had to spend days in hospital while we were there, so we needed a receipt showing only our stay dates and the price for travel insurance. They refused to give it to me. After four days of going back each day to ask, they finally handed it over. We also had to pay in cash, and had just one hour after arriving to do so. One staff member called me a horrible person and asked, “What happened to your womanhood?!” because I insisted on getting the papers I needed. While I was speaking, she kept cutting me off to ask other staff about irrelevant things, just to show she had the power. They’re doing shady business here, for sure. Don’t bother staying.

After a few weeks of backpacking, I wanted a single room and a comfortable bathroom, so I spent a bit more and stayed here at the end of December. I’m glad I did. The room was simple but well furnished, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The hotel itself is very nice, the service was good, and breakfast was stunning. The terrace view is unique. The receptionists were kind and professional, and the lady cooking was so friendly. I was there on Christmas Day and everyone treated me really nicely. Sucre is amazing, and staying here made it even better.

The rooms are clean, modern, and comfortable. The location is ideal, on a quiet street yet only a 10-15 minute walk from the main plaza, with a supermarket just around the corner. Staff were somewhat helpful.
