We spent Christmas in December 2024 at Hotel Villa Antigua in Sucre, and the stay impressed me from beginning to end. The common areas were a real pleasure, with inviting places to sit in different parts of the hotel and lovely views across the rooftops of the White City. Having morning coffee overlooking Sucre or watching the sunset added a lot to the experience. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout, and every interaction felt genuinely helpful. Our room was impeccably clean the whole time, which made it especially welcome after long days out exploring. The central location is a big advantage. The historic Plaza 25 de Mayo, the Cathedral, and other cultural sights are all easy to reach on foot, so it’s simple to soak up the city without using public transport. This charming hotel felt like a real gem in the heart of Sucre, Bolivia’s capital.

The patio is gorgeous, and the hotel is nicely located for exploring Sucre. Our room was clean and the staff friendly. Breakfast let it down: there was no buffet, not many choices, and the food wasn’t especially tasty. For what we paid, I expected a little more.

The building itself is an attraction, and the rooftop terrace is spacious, with beautiful views of the mountains around Sucre and the whole city center. Sunsets from up there are lovely. The owner and staff were so kind and helpful, even offering tips on what to see. It was an awesome experience in one of the best hotels I’ve come across. Such a beautiful place, with the loveliest staff!

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the staff were kind, helpful, and quick to respond. The location was amazing, just two blocks from the main plaza, with little noise nearby. There’s also a nice coffee shop next door serving amazing coffee!

The couple who run this place are incredibly hospitable and make you feel special during your stay. It’s such a welcoming, lovely hotel, with the most beautiful courtyard I’ve seen in Bolivia, maybe even in all of Latin America. I highly recommend it!
