Resort Bonaire

We'd been looking forward to this trip for months, but this is the view we got. There were no adapters in the room or available, so we couldn't use 110 power. They couldn't offer us another room or refund our money. Save yourself a stay unless you enjoy this view.

The location is great, but the people working there really let us down. We booked a two-room apartment for a weekend celebrating our son's birthday. As soon as we walked in, it smelled like a broken sewer pipe. When we used the sink, water came rushing out from under the cabinets, which explained the smell. The second air conditioner also didn't work. When I told the manager, she said air conditioning services don't work on weekends. That seemed very strange to me: I've been a contractor on the island for 13 years, so I know a bit about how that sort of thing works. She said she'd get back to me, but that turned out to be another lie, just like the story about the air conditioner service. At the pool, our family, including the kids, was greeted with, “We've never seen you people here before.” They didn't believe we were staying at the hotel. Great service. We'll never come back. I've never had an experience like this in my life.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and had air conditioning. We also liked the bar, and the resort has a pizzeria with tasty pizzas. Bring your own soap and shower gel, since those were missing. You can also pick them up at the supermarket a two-minute walk away.

The room and view were beautiful, and the bar was great. The pool was great too, but there were plenty of problems: the air conditioners rarely worked, cleaners never came, and the mattresses were stained. We all had to fiddle with our hot water tanks. The emergency line was disconnected, and when we asked staff for help, they kept pointing fingers until closing time.
