Hotel Islander Bonaire

For my solo trip, Hotel Islander Bonaire had everything I needed, was clean, and was very reasonably priced. It’s in a fantastic central spot in Kralendijk. Bubbles, the open-air bar and restaurant on the hotel’s first floor, served great food and had very friendly staff. I’ll absolutely stay here again next time I’m back on Bonaire.

The location is great, and the one-bedroom was small but comfortable with all the basics. The bathroom could use a little attention and felt just a bit too cramped to move around in. We heard the bar downstairs at night, but it wasn’t too loud and we slept fine. The Front Office staff weren’t very welcoming, when they were there at all. It’s fine for a short visit of two or three days, but I wouldn’t pick it for a longer stay.

The bed was nice, the air conditioning worked well, and everything was clean. We also had pleasant contact with Greetje. The house sits in lovely green surroundings, with birds as the only sounds. We wondered at first if it would be too far from the center, but it wasn’t. It was nice not to be amid the crowds, and everything else on the island was nearby. We really enjoyed both Bonaire and our stay. Highly recommended!

I wasn’t expecting much because the hotel is right on the city center’s main street and cost far less than hotels farther away. But it turned out to be great value. The rooms are huge, the beds are great, and it was spotless. The view is amazing if you get a sea-view room. Don’t let the low price put you off, this is an outstanding hotel.
