The sunset over the ocean from here is hard to beat, especially with a beer from the honesty bar. You’re surrounded by greenery, and Windwardside is close enough to walk to. It’s rustic, so expect no AC and the occasional lizard or bug inside. The fan worked fine for me since the nights were cool, and the bed’s mosquito net kept things out. There weren’t many mosquitoes anyway. The cabin has its own bathroom in a separate building right beside it, with a shower and composting toilet. I can’t recommend this place enough. There aren’t many spots where you can watch the ocean sunset from the toilet.

The cottages have breathtaking views, even from the shower, and the breakfasts were delicious. Andries and his partner looked after us so well, and Andries is an absolute hoot. We loved cooling off in the pool after scuba diving or hiking, and everyone else staying there was friendly too. It has an outdoor feel and a climb to get there, so it suits a more adventurous traveler, but it’s worth it. They also clean the cottages, which was such a treat. We loved our time at El Momo!!

It’s affordable, and the view alone makes the stay worthwhile. The staff were friendly and the service was agreeable, though the accommodations were just okay and it’s not especially luxurious. I had some trouble with bugs at night, but the bed was very comfortable. Carrying luggage up so many steps didn’t feel safe.

Andres, Ava and Birgit took such good care of us. The cozy cottages look out over the ocean and Mt. Scenery. We’re hoping to come back to beautiful Saba in a couple of years.
