I live nearby and drop in for their amazing sweets and a quick coffee. Sometimes I also meet a client in the cozy outdoor seating area.

The village is small, so the location is good. The room was nice and comfortable, and the service was good too.

When we left, we realized we’d forgotten some belongings in the room. The owner brought them all the way to Alto Paraíso so we could get them back. Thank you! Earlier, we’d had a small issue with our room, and the management promptly moved us to a better one. It’s a charming pousada with kind, honest, dedicated, and polite staff.

It’s outrageous how noisy this pousada is at night. The restaurant next door has live music that goes on until very late, and it sounds as if they’re playing inside your room. Sleeping is impossible, even if you’re a heavy sleeper. I absolutely don’t recommend it. There’s a review from more than three years ago complaining about the same thing, and it still hasn’t been fixed.
