Holiday Inn Express Belém Ananindeua by IHG

I stayed for 10 days. The room was great, and the front desk treated me very well, but hotel security needs retraining. My girlfriend in Belém came to the hotel with me during my last three days. On her second day there, security canceled my access to the room I’d paid for and called her an escort in the middle of reception. It was humiliating for both of us. The next day I met with the hotel manager, and she made things right, but the humiliation was unnecessary. I’d look for somewhere closer to the city where you can be well taken care of.

I’ve stayed at this hotel twice, and it keeps improving. It’ll be my first choice when I’m in Belem. The hotel is quiet and well maintained, with fresh vegetables, lots of nearby vendors, and shopping within a five-minute walk. There’s a bus route across the city, and no one puts pressure on you. The staff are attentive and helpful, and there was always an Americano / English-speaking host on duty. Breakfast was very good for a continental breakfast. Compliments to Ester, Camela, and Izebel, the excellent housekeeping team, and to Front Desk Max, Francisco, and Lucas, who all spoke Americano/English very well. The rooms are comfortable, and there’s at least one English speaker on every shift. The neighborhood isn’t the best place to be at night, though.
