Pousada Sonho Real

The view is the standout for me, and the whole place feels so peaceful. Breakfast was excellent, with a really good à la carte menu, and you can book a jacuzzi time slot at reception at no extra charge. After check-in, they send a PDF through WhatsApp with nearby places to visit and food delivery numbers. The main kitchen also has microwaves if you bring food to heat up. When my partner and I accidentally broke some glasses in our room, reception replaced them without charging us. We'd only planned to stay one day because we were coming from Cabo Frio and intended to visit Angra and Paraty. But if you're looking to unplug and relax, it's well worth the price. The pousada is surrounded by nature and sits on the road between Angra and Paraty, so having a car is the most convenient way to get there. Two days later, we had a problem at another pousada and came back to Pousada Sonho Real. It was the only place where we'd felt comfortable during our vacation. Just remember that you'll need a car, and you'll be staying out in nature.

The jacuzzi, which was the main reason I chose Pousada Sonho Real, never heated up and wasn't available at all during our stay, even though I tried to book it. I'd confirmed by WhatsApp beforehand that it could be used regardless of which room we booked. On a rainy night, the main bed also started getting wet from a leak, so our family had to rearrange ourselves and sleep in the parallel beds. That same night the power went out. We were told there was no generator, and we sat in the dark with a 1-year-and-10-month-old child until they brought us a small emergency light. We'd arrived with high hopes for a family stay from 07 to 09/03/26 to celebrate my birthday and Women's Day. The welcome was good and the view is beautiful, but the hot shower smelled burnt, the TV didn't work, and the Wi-Fi barely reached our room. Breakfast was disappointing too, with little variety and slow service. We paid a significant amount, and several of the things that led me to choose the place weren't provided. I'm five months pregnant and was traveling with a small child, so the stay was far from the special family occasion we had expected. I wouldn't recommend it. I'm still waiting to hear back from the Pousada through the Concierge number.

The place looks beautiful, but our stay was a terrible experience. I went to celebrate my relationship and was really happy, but the negligence and rude, ironic attitude of some staff left me stressed. For 990 a night, with nothing around, the price made no sense to me. It felt like a filthy dump, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who cares about cleanliness or polite people. The rooms and pools were dirty. There was sand on the floor, hair from someone else, cobwebs all over, and the bathroom was clogged, leaving a sewage smell in the room. The room's table was dusty, and nobody even wiped it down. The garden looked abandoned. The entrance had no clear identification or light. The jacuzzi was dirty when we first wanted to relax, and later, after they'd changed the water, it was broken. I messaged on WhatsApp and got no reply. The lower pool and the pool by our room were dirty too. I complained, and a man came the next day to clean the pool, which made me happy at first, but it still looked the same. He only removed fallen leaves, so I had to clean part of the glass myself with a little cotton and makeup remover to take some decent photos. Soap and a sponge would have done a better job. Someone at reception said the jacuzzi was dirty because it had had three sessions. Were people decomposing in there? It seemed clear nobody was renting those expensive rooms. I also wanted a massage. They said I needed to book, so I scheduled one for the next day, but nobody replied on WhatsApp. There was no reception service. Breakfast was good but simple. The juices were terrible, the cups were old, cracked and chipped, and the coffee maker was old too. The bed linen and room mat were clean, at least. I should have checked Google before booking through Instagram, because the reality was different.
