Hotel Umuarama

The room was clean and tidy, and breakfast was simple but had a few options. The night shift receptionist deserves a special thanks. He was really helpful, told us where to find dinner, and let us know the breakfast hours. Places need people like that, proactive and happy to do their work. The hotel's listed as being downtown, and it is near the bus station, with an Americanas store almost across the street and Lamari nearby, which has fantastic food. But getting around Aparecida on foot, especially to Praça da Basílica Velha, the new basilica, or Morro do Calvário, means a lot of walking and uphill stretches. This would be especially hard for older people. We drove everywhere and found the sights a bit far away. A couple of things could be better: they should pay more attention to replying to customers on WhatsApp. Our room also had no bath towel. We asked for one and were told it would be brought up, but then had to ask again because we'd been forgotten. Still, everything was okay. Thanks for the stay and the attention.
