I was staying at this guesthouse when people who work at Bar do Caranguejo started making a racket outside Transcar. I asked who they were, but they kept going, saying they worked at the bar and were there causing a disturbance. It was around 1:30 in the morning, and they were shouting in the street. I thought it was absurd.

The location is the one thing that has been good. The rest of this stay has been awful. When we arrived, the air conditioning didn't work, so they moved us to another room. The next day, we were told we'd have to move again. We paid extra for a larger room, but it was beside a bar with live music that sounds like it's inside the room. Breakfast has been terrible too. There was no sugar on the first day, and today the machine broke, so there was no coffee or milk. Complaining doesn't help. My rating is awful.

Being half a block from the beach is the hotel's strongest point. I've stayed at several places in Aracaju, including older hotels, where at least the basics worked properly. Here, basic services were unreliable, and the infrastructure and cleanliness made for a poor stay. I'm not referring to optional things like a pool or parking, since those were clear before booking. The staff were excellent, friendly, and very attentive, but our room had dirty sheets with a visible red stain and a floor in poor condition. It was extremely noisy. All three windows faced the restaurant roof, so there was constant noise from early morning, and I struggled to sleep during our three nights. I asked to change rooms, but the alternatives didn't improve things. Most rooms are arranged around the breakfast area, with about ten rooms surrounding it, which affects privacy and rest. We also saw someone peering through the bathroom window from the restaurant roof. As soon as he realized we'd noticed, he left. That left us feeling unsafe and with no privacy. The bathroom tap is automatic, like one in a public restroom, which isn't suitable for a hotel room. Some shared and waiting areas were also unclean. Breakfast doesn't start until 7:00 am, late for a beach hotel, and it's basic with few choices for the price. One day, two of the four pieces of fruit were spoiled. The Wi-Fi was unreliable, and the TV signal kept cutting out.

The location is excellent, the room was really clean, and breakfast was very good. The shower, though, was awful, with water spraying one way and then the other, haha. Fix that and it's definitely five stars!
