My wife and sister-in-law were visiting Brazil for the first time, and I wanted them to have a great trip. Long Beach hotel delivered, and I’d stay there again when I return. We had a great experience, with an excellent breakfast and a location close to everything. I mentioned a few small things to the manager, and she fixed them right away.

The pools were fabulous, and everything is within walking distance. We had a physically disabled relative with us, and the staff were very helpful, especially at breakfast and with arranging transfers. The rooms are basic, and the showers could use stronger pressure; a safe would be useful too. Those were minor gripes over three fantastic nights after escaping Fortaleza. This is my favourite hotel in Ceara. Highly recommended, though I’d pay extra for a poolside room.

The hammock on the porch was a lovely place to sit and enjoy the surroundings. There were pretty green bushes around my room, and the flowers were beautiful. The rooms were nice and well kept, and I loved the pool and main area. The food was very nice too. A perfect place for a relaxing vacation.

The grounds are lovely, and parking was fine. But the rooms sit across a road from the pool, so you have to leave the hotel area and come back in to reach it. The beach seems best suited to kite surfers, and getting there means walking past and around the cemetery. Dinner was pretty hopeless, though the waitress was brilliant. We were, I think, the only guests there, yet the receptionist gave us a room looking out onto the laundry. She was a real witch. You’ll only manage if you can handle her.
