Trade Garden Hotel

Really good.

The restaurant was the one genuinely pleasant part of our stay. The staff there were kind and attentive, the food was very good, and our dinner server was especially warm, friendly, and helpful. A thousand points for that dinner team. The room was dirty and badly maintained. There was a strong sewage smell in the bathroom, and we found hair and body hair around the room. Everything felt old, the bedding was torn, and the pillow was extremely uncomfortable. Hygiene and care were seriously lacking. At the front desk, the receptionist was rude from the moment we arrived. She didn’t even say good morning, and kept a sour expression while treating us as if we were a bother. It was 7 a.m. and her bad mood had already taken over the place. That kind of unfriendly service was far below the minimum I’d expect at a hotel.

I had a terrible experience and wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The call was recorded, and I plan to report the conduct to Procon de Araras and take whatever legal steps are appropriate. The hotel is responsible for its staff and for the awful, low-grade service it provides. I believe someone who treats customers with such disrespect and refuses to follow the law should at least be dismissed. If they can’t do the job properly, they should make room for someone willing and able to serve the guests who pay their wages through their stays. I was told by someone identifying himself as José that guests were required to leave at noon regardless of when they checked in. I raised the issue of the right to use a room for 24 hours under Portaria nº 28/2025, but he refused to comply with the law in force. He was extremely rude and seemed wholly unprepared for his role. When I challenged what I understood to be a right guaranteed by law, he dismissed me and said, “THE LAW IN FORCE IN THE COUNTRY DEPENDS ON INTERPRETATION,” told me I “should look for another hotel” and that I was “making trouble,” then hung up on me. The conversation was also very hard to follow. He wasn’t clear when speaking and had poor diction, which made it obvious to me that the hotel lacks standards for hiring and training people for public-facing work. This was unacceptable. The hotel’s practices, as I experienced them, disregard the Consumer Protection Code and harm its customers.

We’re simple people and don’t expect fuss. Since we arrived early, at 11:00, my wife and I only went in to confirm our check-in. The receptionist, a fair-skinned young woman, barely looked away from her computer and answered us with no interest or courtesy. We thanked her and left, then decided to stay at another hotel. Those three stars are because of her, since reception is such an important part of a hotel. I was in town for work, and on future visits here or to nearby cities we’ll stay at the other place we chose.
