We were a group of 15, and the place itself is really nice, with an incredible view that's great for photos. Check-in was a bit chaotic that day, but they managed to sort it out in the end. The staff were always polite and helped me whenever I needed anything. Breakfast was good too, with fruit and pastries and choices to suit different tastes. My room was right by reception and the kitchen, at the front. I’d booked well in advance, but only in the last week did they tell me one of our rooms would be there, and there was no other option. The attendant said it was soundproofed, but kitchen noise woke me every day. The bathroom was old and smelled like sewage. It badly needs renovation. I saw that some other rooms had been redone and looked much better. The food was the biggest letdown. I saw people praising it, but I thought it was really bad. On the first day, what was supposed to be a barbecue was nowhere near one: the meat was dried out, and there was chicken breast, sausage, and a tough red meat I couldn’t identify. There was also something called moqueca, just pieces of fish in a thin broth. The other days weren’t any better. Saturday’s feijoada was good, but otherwise the choice was either that or plain chicken breast. There were always only two options, so if neither was good, that was it. The food could be improved, and the old bathrooms need renovating.
