The staff’s kindness and attention, along with the incredible food, are what made our week here so special. We also loved the pool, gym, amenities, and the mix of modern design with an authentic feel. The hotel sits beautifully among Búzios’ natural scenery, looking out over a small bay. After a week in this little paradise, going back to everyday life was tough.

The food was a real highlight for me: fresh local ingredients, thoughtfully prepared dishes, and memorable flavors that suited the hotel’s atmosphere. My room was spacious and had all the comforts I needed. The place is beautifully decorated and well cared for, with a calm, secluded feel. From arrival, the staff were warm and attentive, always going out of their way to make the stay feel special. It’s a distinctive boutique hotel and an experience I’ll remember after leaving.

Breakfast was a standout, with a delicious à la carte menu to start the day. I also loved the bay view, especially while using the gym. The Insólito Boutique Hotel & Spa has direct access to Praia da Ferradura and includes entry to the Tawa Beach Club. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. The rooms had fresh paint, though some maintenance updates would help them maintain the high standard of the stay.

The view over the little bay from the balcony could be lovely, but colorful tourist boats shaped like swans, Loch Ness monsters, or unicorns dock right in the middle and spoil it. The hotel itself feels worn and damaged in many spots, inside the rooms and outside, and needs a major refurbishment. We were charged an obligatory extra 10% as tips, which hadn’t been mentioned when booking. For a place priced like a 5+ star hotel, the service felt closer to 3 stars, so there was no value for money. Búzios has changed a lot too. These days it felt dirty and like a tourist trap where everyone is trying to empty your pockets. Frankly, I wouldn’t come back.

Everyone was consistently polite and did their best to help, and the location is excellent. The hotel has a special charm, even though a few areas could use renovation. We had a wonderful time, thank you 😊
