Morada do Sol Guest House

Gustavo is an absolute legend, and the place was extraordinary. Highly recommend!

What a disappointment. We arrived at 2:30 pm, but the owner wasn’t there and there were no staff to help. Check-in was supposed to be at 2, yet we had no room until 5:30. There were cats all over the pousada, and the smell of their poop was awful. There was poop everywhere, and the pool was filthy. The room smelled moldy, and the comforter was so thin that we were cold overnight and caught colds. Breakfast was terrible. On the second day, she couldn't even go to the market to get food and make scrambled eggs, and some friends were left without bread. The place felt abandoned. We don't recommend it and won't return. It doesn't deserve its rating.

I didn’t stay there because there were no rooms available, but I went to see the place. The owner was very attentive, and the space looked really nice. I can’t comment on the services. It’s far from the center and Orla Bardot, especially with the traffic, but it’s right on the sand at Praia Rasa, which is very good, with a long stretch of sand and few people. It’s also near the neighborhood’s small center, which has good restaurants and other places. I’d like to stay there next time.

The only real plus of Morada do Sol Guest House is its peaceful spot right by the beach. We stayed in the best suite, but the rooms are dark and the mold smell was terrible, especially from the damp, musty curtain on the door. The Booking photos no longer match the place, which clearly needs renovations. Our bed was smaller than the mattress on it, and there wasn’t even a blanket or comforter in the room. The old air conditioner was very noisy. There was also a door connecting our room to another, locked at the time, which made us feel somewhat uneasy. The host was kind, but his wife wasn’t friendly at all. The pousada has very cute cats, and I’d rate the breakfast a 6. The bathroom window wouldn’t stay open to let air into the room. There was a lot of yelling at night in the room above us, which we assume is part of the owners’ home. Unfortunately, we don’t recommend the pousada and don’t plan to return. For what we paid, it wasn’t worth it.
