Pousada Casa da Pedra

Fantastic.

The location is excellent, but we won't stay here again. For the high nightly price, the property's poor condition was unacceptable. The rooms lacked basic equipment, the beds were extremely hard, and the comforters had hair on them. The showers were dirty, and some showerheads didn't work properly. Room service was unreliable, and $20 was stolen from our room. Breakfast was only okay: the fruit was good, but there wasn't much else to choose from. There was just one key per room, and reception closed at 10:00 PM, which was inconvenient. Check-in times are strictly enforced: we couldn't check in at 1:50 PM when the stated time was 2:00 PM, even though the same person was at reception playing on their phone. Regards, Wyss

The central spot means you can hear plenty of street noise until after midnight. Still, you're steps from the center and only a five-minute walk from the beach. The staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast is excellent, and the rooms are cleaned every 48 hours. Wi-Fi is available 24 hours a day, and the bathroom has good water pressure.

The mattresses were old and in awful shape. I had muscle tension on four of my six days there. The rooms were very bad, and the upstairs ones have a really steep staircase. On the plus side, the breakfast and location were good, but the internet didn't work.
