Pousada Kybalion

The colonial style gives the inn a calm feel, and it’s close to beaches, safe, and reasonably priced. We had a wonderful stay in January with a friend. The team gave excellent service and were always friendly, ready to suggest places to visit. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, the rooms were comfortable, and the shower was fantastic. Simply an incredible place!

There were some pleasant moments late in the afternoon and evening, when the staff were helpful and much more courteous. But most of our stay was terrible, and I wouldn't recommend the inn. On arrival, we found a dead mouse on the ceiling, the bathrooms had soap left by previous guests, and the sheets smelled musty. Towels were changed only every two days, and breakfast was the same each day with no variety. The staff were unpleasant and rude. I overheard employees criticizing us for leaving the bathroom wet, though the shower curtain didn't fit properly and water inevitably leaked out. There was also mockery, staff entering rooms, and what seemed to be clear preferential treatment of Argentinian guests. Water was cut off without warning, and we had to buy bottled water ourselves; they refused to take responsibility or give us a refund. The lack of hygiene, poor service, and unprofessionalism left a very bad impression.

The hosts and staff were always friendly and ready to answer questions or help, especially Estela and Santi. Santi even played Lady Gaga at breakfast to help us start the day well! Breakfast was included, substantial, and delicious, with milk and cereal plus bread and sweet and savory choices. The place is cozy and surrounded by lush greenery, with all the amenities we needed, including air conditioning in the rooms. Daily cleaning is included: you leave your keys at reception, and towels are changed every other day. The bathroom is fully equipped with excellent water pressure. I highly recommend it!

All the employees treated us incredibly well, they were so kind and attentive, and we really appreciate that. The rooms, though, are neglected and poorly maintained. Breakfast was very limited, and when we asked for more of something we wanted, like fruit or cold cuts, they said “they won't let them.” We thought that was awful. Room cleaning is only every 3 days. You can ask for it more often, but that shouldn't be necessary in a beach area where you bring sand into the room every day.
