Riviera Hotel Buzios

Loved it, such a cozy hotel. I wasn't keen on my mattress, but these things happen. Breakfast was great, the staff were attentive and very helpful, and the location was perfect. Can't wait to go back. Loved it.

The location is the main reason I’d return. It’s very central, half a block from the main square. I visited at the end of June and didn’t hear street noise, though sounds from the next rooms came through. The beds were only so-so, and while the place is nice, it feels more like a guesthouse than a hotel. Most of the staff were friendly. Breakfast was average and could be better. Our shuttle collected us at 7 am before breakfast began, but they wouldn’t give us anything to take along. Friends at another hotel had the same timing issue and were given a snack for the trip. I’d come back, but just for the location.

Nothing seemed like a hassle here. They helped with everything, from beach towels to keeping the room spotless, and breakfast was generous with plenty of choice. The service was outstanding. It’s also just steps from the shopping center and restaurants. The one thing that could be better is the Wi-Fi, which was weak on the first floor.

The outdoor area is really nice, and the pool is small but lovely. Our room was spacious, clean, the air conditioning worked well, and the bathroom was functional. The bar service was a 10, definitely worth trying. We felt it was good value, especially for families with children who want room to spread out in the apartment and stay in the Center. We did lose power in the room for a while because of a short in the key box, and there wasn’t a decent fan. This happened around 4 in the morning and was sorted by 9:30. It didn’t ruin the experience. The place is practically right in the Center, near Orla (praia) and Rua das Pedras.
