The pool and outdoor space were nice, and the dorm beds had curtains, which is always a plus. It’s a social hostel, though most people seemed to speak Spanish. Some downsides: several bathroom locks didn’t work, and the top bunk has no privacy curtain. There’s no air conditioning, though I’m not sure how common that is in Buzios.

The staff were great. Some speak English, but otherwise you may have to get by in Spanish or Portuguese. The rooms are crowded and can get smelly. There are plenty of showers and toilets, but some locks didn’t work. The kitchen is large and open, though the fridges need clearing out more often to remove food left by former guests.

We felt at home after a few days at the solar hostel and didn't want to leave. The atmosphere was perfect, with good vibes, and the outdoor area was great. The staff were amazing and helpful, like family. The 9-bed dorm is too small, but the 6-bed room is good. The kitchen was messy and not very clean, and the bathrooms need updating. The price was very good. The bar is basic, but the food and drinks are delicious.

The grounds are huge, with lots of space to lounge around, and the hostel is in a very central location. The staff were amazing and helped me figure out where to go and how to catch buses nearby. It was a great place to stay, very clean, and they have a really cute rabbit. Thanks!

The rooms aren't new and the place isn't sparkling clean, but the atmosphere is lovely and people are friendly. The location is perfect. Most of all, the owner's approach and vision for running a hostel are something you rarely find. This place deserves five stars!
