We spent three days in a row at the Beach Club and Nathan and Dione looked after us exceptionally well. They went out of their way to make our visit great. The cocktails were good and the food was amazing.
Fantastic location and views, and the food is nice, but the service was really poor for a hotel at this price. People are on holiday to relax, not deal with confrontations. We were up early at 06:30 on the first day because of jet lag, while breakfast didn't start until 07:30. There’s no tea or coffee in the rooms. We asked if we could get a coffee from the machines in the breakfast area and were told no. We paid over $2k for the stay, yet they wouldn't provide a coffee outside service hours. The hotel gives guests access to the Beach Club, but it isn't good for kids. Mine is 6, and he couldn't jump in the pool, play with toys, or be thrown in the air. We got pool towels in the morning, then went on a boat trip and returned them. Six hours later, the club was relatively empty and there was a mountain of towels, but they wouldn't give us another one. They said we had to go back up to the hotel ourselves. For a hotel costing thousands of dolars, that's a bad rule. What really upset me was how the woman reacted when I explained this hadn't been made clear and asked for an exception since we were on holiday. She started shouting, first in english, then in Portuguese, and got really rude.
The view and amenities are good at Ville la Plague, but the staff have made our stay through December 28th awful. They are unfriendly, unhelpful, and just plain terrible to foreigners. If you don't speak Portuguese, forget getting help. They don't even try, and make English speakers feel unwelcome, like an inconvenience. We paid a lot and got one of the worst rooms. After we complained, we had to pay an extra R$ 880. There's no point having such a beautiful place if the staff are this bad. The difference in how Portuguese-speaking guests and everyone else are treated is clear and palpable. I wouldn't recommend it.
A clean room, great views, and excellent service, that's hard to beat. I found my home away from home.
The hotel has a lovely atmosphere and amazing views. The rooms are excellent, very clean, and the beds are comfortable. Highly recommend.
