The breakfast area gets unbearably hot, the door is broken, and there aren't enough seats. I was moved from room 5 because of the street noise, but room 7 had the same problems and everything there felt old too. The towels are paper thin, the shampoo and conditioner aren't good, and there's only a thin blanket, no duvet. The sheets are old and thin, and there's no mattress cover. The lobby smells musty, wires look unsafe in several places, and there's no bar. The place needs updating. For this price, you can find somewhere much nicer. This doesn't even feel like a 3-star hotel, let alone a 4-star one. Check the pictures. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in, just a rip-off.

The location is great, close to Mucugê beach and all the activity downtown. The view is beautiful, and the staff are kind and helpful. Still, this was the worst hotel I've stayed at in years, especially for the absurd nightly rate. It feels like whoever is managing it doesn't care about the place, which is falling apart. Here's what went wrong: There were only six breakfast tables for a hotel with 16 rooms, most seating just two people, so guests had to wait. The breakfast room has no air conditioning and direct sun makes the heat unbearable. Orange juice was available only one day, and there was just one kind of juice overall, even though not everyone drinks exotic fruit juice. Salt and sugar were communal, with no individual hygienic packets. The Wi-Fi was awful. One of the pools was closed in the middle of summer, and I had to make a fuss to get it addressed. There was no pool bar or anyone serving drinks, not even water, despite the infinity pool and sea view being the hotel's main attraction. A coffee cup was sitting by the pool when I arrived and was still there when I left. The shared areas weren't cleaned or maintained, although the rooms were cleaned. Our family room had an old stove with rusty, nonworking burners, but no cutlery or plates despite having a kitchen. The TV was awkwardly placed between two sofas, and it didn't work, so I had to make another fuss to get it replaced. The bathroom window was broken. The shower pressure was so weak that washing long hair took forever. The room's air conditioning also wasn't working until I had to make a scene to get it fixed. The sheets weren't cotton and were so rough they scratched my skin. I travel a lot and know a good part of the world, and I've never stayed in a hotel this bad. The price makes it even worse. It might be one thing if it were a hostel, but this was a terrible experience and I wouldn't recommend it. You'll only get frustrated. It seems like even the owner hates the hotel.

The balcony hammock was a lovely place to watch the sea, and the view and location are both wonderful. We were there for a weekend, and the reception staff were so welcoming that they let us have breakfast on the morning we arrived even though we'd booked just one trip. We really appreciated that. There are several things around the hotel that need attention. You can see exposed electrical wiring outside the rooms. It looks bad, and could pose some risk. In the room, the cooktop was very worn and the mini fridge was corroded. The sea air may explain the wear, but they don't look good in that condition.

The hotel is in a wonderful spot, and the rooms are decent, though very old and musty. Breakfast was the biggest issue for me. There are 16 rooms but only six tables in the dining area, and they can't seat everyone. Guests end up standing and waiting for a place to open up.

Baixu is one of my favorite hotels in Arraial. It's beautiful and so well placed, right on Arraial's main street among the best shops, bars, and restaurants, with an easy walk through the town center. The staff are lovely and always ready to help. The apartments are beautiful and comfortable, the view of the sea is hypnotic, and the breakfast is just perfect, every bit of it delicious. I love this hotel, and the value for money is really worth it. I'd absolutely recommend it! 🌺☀️
