Kawaii Pousada e Hostel

It’s a simple pousada, but what you get matches the price, so it’s great value. We were close enough to the center that we didn’t need the car for evenings out. They provide bed and bath linens, and the room has air conditioning, a fan, TV, and minibar. We also used the shared kitchen and washing machine. Senhor Francisco and his son Vitor were very helpful and attentive. I’d stay here again and definitely recommend it.

We walked to the historic center every day, and the value was great overall. The rooms are plain, with no luxury, but they do the job. We were welcomed warmly and could use the kitchen, washing machine, and drying rack. The room had a new air conditioner that we were the first to use, plus ceiling and table fans, a minibar, and a bathroom with a hot shower. There weren’t enough hooks for clothes and towels, so we had to rig up a clothesline.

We chose this place because it was listed as pet friendly and told them when booking that we’d be bringing our medium-sized Lhasa Apso. They asked us to leave on the second day of our seven-day reservation. It was really humiliating, and we had to find somewhere else in a hurry.

This was a really awful stay. The room felt uncomfortable and shouldn’t have been offered. A cockroach came out of the drain while I was showering, and there was a bad smell from the bathroom in the room at night. Around 4 a.m., animals would walk and make noise above the PVC ceiling. The room also looked different from the photos. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
