I’ve lived between Madrid, Marbella, and Locarno for many years, and I have to say this part of Brazil has the happiest people and the most relaxed atmosphere I’ve enjoyed.

From the ocean view rooms and both pools, the views are amazing, and the hotel is just a five minute walk from the beach. It’s a nice little place on the quieter end of the main street, with very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is the standard Brazilian hotel kind, with a few things made to order. Our stay was wonderful overall, though the sheets had a few tears and the duvet cover zipper was broken. Those are details that shouldn’t be overlooked.

The staff are lovely and friendly, and they can arrange great experiences, from excursions to a capoeira lesson at a real top capoeira school. This small luxury boutique hotel also has a spa, two swimming pools, and amazing views. Fantastic property and experience.

So peaceful, beautiful, and intimate, with exceptional decor and excellent rooms full of lovely little touches. I honestly can’t find anything to fault at Maitei. I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. If you’re staying in Arraial, look no further. Maitei is simply EXCEPTIONAL!

The beach is just a five-minute walk away, which made this a nice spot for a weekend break. My wife and I enjoyed staying at Maitei Hotel, and the staff were excellent. The breakfast cakes were delicious too. We'd happily recommend it.
