Pousada Vento Sul - Arraial D'Ajuda

Maria Helena and Livia were so attentive, and the room was spotless and perfectly organized. Breakfast was delicious, with the women making everything fresh to order. They also offered thoughtful extras you don’t find at many hotels: an iron, hair dryer, afternoon coffee and complimentary water. In the bathroom there was cotton, cotton swabs, a shower cap, liquid soap by the sink and bar soap in the shower. The pousada had a really welcoming feel, a wonderful view of the sea, and a great location close to the center, good restaurants and beaches. The van stops right at the door. And there’s Ventinho, the pousada’s mascot, who’s the sweetest dog. We had an amazing stay and will definitely be back.

Lívia, Maria and Luna made me feel so welcome. You can really sense how much care they put into each guest, the space and every little detail. I felt at home, and this was my best stay in Arraial. The accommodation was immaculate, smelled lovely and was comfortable, with a REALLY good mattress. Everything worked, and there was a minibar, air conditioning and amenities. The whole place had such a peaceful feel, and you couldn’t hear street noise. Breakfast left a strong impression too. It felt made with care, fresh and well prepared, with time to sit and chat. It was part of the experience, not just another meal. The location is another big plus, close to the sea and the center. My conversation with Luna stayed with me. She told me some of the pousada’s story and how it had changed over time, along with the dedication involved in caring for the place, her family and her mother. It has more than 40 years of history and passed through other hands for a long time. Now they’ve taken it on fully and are bringing it back to life with admirable care. The structure is also wonderful and very well looked after. When I return to Arraial, I’ll stay here again.
