For the price compared with nearby places, it’s good value, though you shouldn’t expect a luxury hotel. The hotel sits right on the beach, is close to the ferry, and is near the vans that go to the center and other areas. The bar and common-area team were polite and attentive. There are seasonal issues, like seaweed on the beach, which aren’t really the hotel’s fault, but they could at least rake it away from the tables. There were way too many signs around the property and rooms warning about fines and penalties, especially the one beside the TV. I found that ridiculous. The entrance was dirty and made the place feel like an unmanaged roadside boarding house, and there was a strong smell right at the entrance, maybe sewage or a full septic tank. Reception service was terrible, especially the woman on the night shift. The building and rooms need maintenance. In room 112, the toilet cistern fixture was broken and had been glued back together, which seemed very dangerous, especially for children. The three-star breakfast was weak, and the room cleaning was poor. I left a piece of paper under the bed on arrival as a test, and it was still there when I left. Restaurant and bar prices are high too. In my view, the hotel should focus on these basics to live up to its three-star rating and keep guests comfortable.

The inn was the best part of our trip to Porto Seguro. It’s right by the ferry and vans, making it easy to visit the beaches, Arraial’s center and Porto Seguro. The location was great, breakfast was delicious, and the staff were friendly and very helpful.

We only visited Santorini’s restaurant, but it left us with a really bad experience that cast a shadow over our trip. My parents ordered a dish listed as picanha, but the steak they got was tough, lacked the cut’s characteristic fat cap and didn’t even have the usual shape. When they asked a staff member, he insisted it was picanha, even though it clearly wasn’t. That was frustrating and gave us the feeling the menu wasn’t being honest with customers. My wife and I ordered salmon with passion fruit sauce, and we’re certain it caused serious food poisoning. Within a few hours we became very ill. My wife vomited in front of several people in the center of Arraial d’Ajuda early that evening, which was deeply embarrassing and upsetting. We lost the entire next day of our trip to vomiting, diarrhea, severe discomfort and weakness, and couldn’t enjoy anything. The restaurant is expensive, but the quality fell far short of what we expected, especially when it comes to food safety, honest menu descriptions and customer care. It was worrying and frustrating, and directly affected our trip. We don’t recommend it and won’t return.

The hotel is lovely, well organized and very clean. It’s right on the sand, and at low tide the beach forms natural pools. Even though it’s beside the ferry, we couldn’t hear the noise. The location is great and breakfast was satisfying. The only thing we didn’t like was checkout at 10 in the morning. Santorini, noon would be better! Apart from that, we had a good stay.

The hotel’s breakfast area opens right onto the sea, which is wonderful. The whole beach hotel is designed for a comfortable stay and looks beautiful. The pool is large and clean, with loungers, a shower and bathrooms that were always clean. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of cakes, fresh juices, breads and more, and the restaurant served delicious dishes. I spent my honeymoon here with my husband, and the stay was memorable and really pleasant. The team worked hard to keep everything clean and comfortable. A special mention to manager Cris, who was so helpful. We’d definitely return to Santorini Beach hotel on another trip.
