The property feels dated, but the attentive staff more than made up for it. From check-in, they tried to meet our room requests and went out of their way to make the visit feel special. Over our three nights, they surprised us each day: a heart-shaped chocolate cake one evening, champagne the next, then flower petals on the bed and towels arranged as two kissing swans. The location is great for Arraial do Cabo, just two blocks from the beach. We had a blast, and it was decent value that helped make the trip memorable.
Hello, tourists. This used to be my beach home. It was sold some time ago, and I moved to Geribá-Búzios-RJ-Brazil. I highly recommend this hotel and the cool, pleasant place I knew long ago. Fifty years back, my parents bought the first houses on this beach. There were only a few buildings at first, then everything grew quickly, as it does everywhere. Casa 4 was our home, a two-story house with three bedrooms later on, eventually adapted with a barbecue and other things. We had a terrible childhood here. The tide was perfect, and I don’t remember any deep spots or anyone sinking. Beyond the old stones and line, Alcalis was deserted, and half of Prainha had nobody around. The streets were barren and there were no telephones. To make a call, we had to go to the downtownbox of Telerj DDD and use a cabin. Tamil, Solange, and Itamar were familiar faces from childhood, and the only residents out of season. I think fish and shrimp are still affordable in the beach and small town. Forget TV, race the tide, borrow a board, and watch the pelicans dive for fish. Sadly, our blue and green sea has been sold off today. People never cared about our beach, just kept saying “Rio anyway.” There was dirt and waste dumped right on the beach. Have fun, just a few beers. In winter and off season, the locals may still look at you strangely with your watch and glasses. Good trip!
We’ve stayed here twice and loved every part of it. The beach is just a couple of minutes away on foot, and the location is great.
We stopped by just for lunch and were warmly welcomed. The food was great, and it’s a lovely, peaceful hotel near Prainha.
A lovely little place in Prainha, with rooms set around a small courtyard and swimming pool. Best pousada in prainha.
