Guest House do Magoo

This was about as bad as it could get. I arrived, left my bags, and went to lunch. When I came back to rest, the host's cat came into the room and wouldn't leave me alone. It scratched me when I tried to get it out, and it was licking food scraps on the table. The kitchen was very dirty, and the host wasn't there to deal with the problem. The bedding was badly worn, too. The host showed me the cleaning products and broom, then said I could clean the bathroom myself if I wasn't happy with it. I didn't stay at the hostel. I went to find somewhere comfortable, clean, and without animals. My husband found another place and went to tell the host. I'd paid for the nights but hadn't even been there for two hours, and the host refused to refund me and kept putting my husband off. I went there on August 28, and by October 2, 2025, I still hadn't received my refund.

Fabiano welcomed us warmly and checked if we needed anything. The room was cozy, and the place felt safe and peaceful. There's a yard with chairs where you can get some fresh air, plus a washing machine and a stove with all the utensils, which helps keep costs down. We felt at home and will definitely return with family and friends.

My reservation, which I'd made on WhatsApp, had been forgotten. They sent me to a room in another house that was supposedly better, but it was old, with very worn furniture, mattresses, cushions, and pillows. The sheets looked so used that I couldn't tell if they were clean, and they made me feel disgusted. The bed creaked, the air conditioning didn't work, the shower was awful and weak, and the bathroom wasn't properly clean. The sink water sometimes smelled like sewage, and then ants started showing up. The kitchen was always dirty and piled with dishes, so we couldn't use it. A 1.5 liter bottle of water also disappeared from the fridge shelf the host had set aside for us. The one bright spot was that the host at the guesthouse o Clã do Cla, where we were sent, was friendly and helpful. I'd recommend avoiding WhatsApp reservations. Booking felt like the safer option.

We spent five days in Arraial do Cabo, and our stay wouldn't have been nearly as good without the place we chose. Fabiano was helpful and attentive from our first WhatsApp messages. When I felt sick one day, he gave me medicine and offered me boldo tea. I was feeling fine the next day. Those small gestures really make a difference. Sending a hug, and we'll definitely be back ❤️🏠
