Hostel Malai Beach House

The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful. When I needed to give an online lecture, Maila offered me her own internet connection and her room so I could get a better signal, since the hostel’s main internet is shared Wi-Fi. That was especially kind because it wasn’t included in the package. Marina is a lovely person too. She explained everything and welcomed us warmly and courteously. The accommodation is simple, but it served us very well. The beach is just a few steps away and has a spectacular sunset. There’s hot water, and breakfast is plentiful and amazing. I loved everything I tried, especially the chocolate cake and sweet bread. We’ll be back soon. 😍🥰😍

We decided at the last minute to go to Arraial and were almost ready to give up when we found Malai Beach House. I felt at home as soon as I spoke with Maila on the phone 🤩. She was polite, caring, proactive, and kind from the reservation through our very last moment there. She also made us feel safe and at ease. She suggested excellent extra services, including daytime and nighttime tours, as well as restaurants, and helped make our stay as pleasant as possible. We were looked after so well and will definitely stay with you again. Keep up the excellent, friendly service, and you’ll go far. The people were so pleasant. Mailla and her family were lovely, and Marina was especially sweet and attentive. They serve a delicious breakfast made with fresh food, and are always ready to help with whatever you need. Thanks for welcoming us so warmly. The place is right in front of beautiful Praia Grande, with a wonderful sunset.

It felt so much like home that it was like visiting relatives, thanks to the inn’s staff. Everything was clean and organized, and we’ll definitely return many times. The simple, cozy place offers great value for its facilities. Breakfast is excellent, especially the volcano chocolate cake, and there’s a section of the kitchen with a stove available 24 hours a day if you want to cook your own meals. The location is perfect, about 50 steps from the sand at Praia Grande, close to the center, and surrounded by shops. I highly recommend it.
