Eco Pousada Filhos do Vento

My wife and I had a terrible stay here. The breakfast was ordinary and felt like it was made without much care, and there were too many flies around the eating area. Guillerme, the helper in charge, seemed well-intentioned but didn't know about breakfast or service. Some things we liked, including wine, beer, and oil, were “missing” from the kitchen. That's unacceptable. We were also unhappy with the owners, Marcelo and Ana. They tried to be polite, but it didn't go well. Marcelo got too familiar with my wife, to the point that she felt uncomfortable, and our problems weren't resolved. They seemed not to be working. Cabin number 2 was very old. Sand had built up in the sink so it wouldn't drain, the electric shower sometimes gave you a shock, and the bed smelled very old. For these and other uncomfortable issues, we don't recommend this place.

The owners, Marcelo and Ana, and their helper Dadá are lovely. They're always ready to help guests and are nice company for a casual chat. Breakfast is good, with bread, cakes, fruit, juices, and more. Dadá's banana cake deserves a special mention. The place is simple and very welcoming, very much in the Atins spirit. The chalets don't have air-conditioning or TVs. The main hut has Wi-Fi, which works well for WhatsApp. Since the connection is by satellite, don't expect too much, though it can be nice to unplug a bit. The location is excellent, right near the start of the main street, with restaurants nearby and the beach beginning close by.

A good-value choice in Atins, close to the river and some very good bars and restaurants. There's no luxury, but it met my expectations. I stayed in room 9, which had air-conditioning and a hot shower. Marcelo was a great host and suggested tours and places to visit.

The new managers have been making good improvements at this cozy pousada. The people there are special, and breakfast is simple but satisfying, with a tasty cake from Dadá always on offer. It's on the main street, and the backyard reaches all the way to the beach. I had wonderful days there!
