Ecoblue Resort Avaré

The property is enormous, and it’s clear that a lot of resources went into its infrastructure. Before booking, the online photos made us worry it might feel like a basic guest house (pousada), but the building turned out to be well constructed and beautifully decorated. The main problem is maintenance, an issue I’ve seen in clinics and hotels across Brazil. It’s a shame to see such nice architecture and decor falling apart. The fountain by the reception entrance never worked. Our bathroom smelled strongly of sewage and had a clogged sink. The walls were damaged, and the pool area looked abandoned, with umbrellas and chairs lying around, some in the water, and nobody looking after the area. Mr. Rodrigo at the front desk helped make our stay good. I hope I have his name right. He was incredibly sympathetic and professional, took our complaints seriously, and went out of his way to welcome us. It’s a pity he had to work so hard to make up for the lack of a proper maintenance team or the resources the administration should provide. We had half-board and ate at the resort. Some dishes were good, while others seemed uninspired and unappetizing. Breakfast, on the other hand, was enjoyable. Brazil is the land of coffee, and they delivered on quality. Hotels in Brazil that still serve guests Nespresso, please stop. It’s embarrassing. Thanks to Mr. Rodrigo’s efforts, we ended up having a good stay. We hope the administration provides what’s needed to maintain this beautiful property by our next visit. It has the potential to be a top-tier resort if they take care of it.
