Pousada Kairos

The room was much too small, and so was the shower stall. Hardly any water came from the shower, and water leaked out of the stall into the rest of the bathroom, leaving the bath mat wet and in awful shape. We asked for a new mat but didn’t get one. Breakfast was very basic and what they served wasn’t very tasty. The pool was dirty for about two days of our stay. I wouldn’t recommend it or go back.

A nice pousada in Geriba, with a garden, pool, bar, and breakfast. Geriba beach is a 10-minute walk away. Some rooms are more modern than others. The owner and manager are really nice people.

If you want a bad night's sleep, this place is for you. The mattress is so hard and uncomfortable that a stone might be better; we nearly chose the floor instead. The bed was full of ants. Breakfast had few choices, and what was available was stale and unpleasant. They fine you for everything. The people who served us were friendly, apart from the receptionist. The pool didn’t look like it did in the photo. I wouldn’t pay even 100 reais a night.

I’m posting this so people can check before going, since I felt misled. I booked the pousada through CVC. The photos looked appealing, but what was shown wasn’t real. I paid for a Junior suite for three people. The room was small and the cleaning was poor. The bathroom was tiny, and there were little bugs on the toilet paper. My daughter’s bed had ants and bugs, so they changed our room, but the new one was worse. My husband and I got a bed that smelled of mildew, with urine on the mattress. The “spa” was a massage table outside in a small yard. It takes some nerve to put up a sign saying there’s a spa. The photos are heavily edited, and the pool was dirty. I didn’t see anyone come near it. They make you sign a paper listing absurd charges if something gets damaged. For example, they charge 400 reais for a stained duvet, even though there wasn’t a duvet, just a well-used bedspread. For what I paid CVC, it wasn’t worth it, and I wouldn’t pay even 200 reais a night. It’s also very poorly located, 1 km from Geribá beach, with no shops nearby, in a neighborhood they call a community. I don’t blame the pousada for the sale itself, since they didn’t sell it to me. But they can’t advertise so misleadingly with photos and a spa that don’t match reality. The bathroom was small, grimy, and broken; there was nowhere to hang towels, and even the toilet was loose. I stayed there from 04/04 to 5/4 2025.
