Residencial Del Mar

We had a great stay at this pousada, and it’s good value in Baía Formosa. The pool with a view and hydromassage is a highlight. Rooms were comfortable and clean, with spacious bathrooms separated into sink, toilet, and shower areas. There’s wheelchair access and a great view, too. It’s not right on the sand, but it’s a four-minute walk to Praia da Cacimba, where there are restaurants and beachside stalls. Lucas at reception was kind and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. We’d stay here again if we return to BF!

The poolside scenery was beautiful and very pleasant. Breakfast was tasty and covered the basics, and the attentive staff offered sandwiches, eggs, or tapioca made to order. The inn’s staff were kind and polite, and the service was excellent. But cleanliness really needs to improve. When we arrived, the room had a strong musty smell, the sheet was visibly dirty, and there was a leak in the bathroom by the toilet. I have allergies and my rhinitis flared up. That was a major reason for the lower rating. Great service from the staff, but the hygiene was disappointing.

The view is top-notch, and the rooms are good and spacious, with air conditioning. One thing to keep in mind is that the windows have no glass, just wood. The pousada is welcoming and well located, with exceptional staff. Manager Lucas goes out of his way to handle every request, even unusual ones. Breakfast gets a 10, and they tailor it to what guests want. I’d definitely return.

The hotel is well located, very close to the beach and to the center with its restaurants and other shops. The rooms are spacious, and the common areas are tidy and cozy. One thing needs improvement: solar heating means the shower can take over 10 minutes to deliver hot water. You’re left taking a cold shower or letting the water run for those 10 minutes. They have a sign saying towels are changed every two days to save water, but then the shower wastes it.
