I’ve traveled to over 50 countries and stayed in plenty of hostels. On this Brazil trip alone, I stayed in more than eight places, and this one was by far the worst for cleanliness and customer service. There were lots of cockroaches in our room, apparently coming from an open sewer nearby, and there was dog poop by the door. Nobody spoke English or even Spanish. We left after several hours for another hotel. The receptionist promised me a full refund, but now the owner is denying it. If you’re expecting to meet friendly backpackers and travelers, think again. Most of the guests there were workers on nearby construction projects. Don’t let their AI-generated response fool you. This place sucks, and they don’t keep their refund promises. You can find a cheaper room in a respectable hotel closer to the beach. Trust me, there’s no reason to visit this hostel.

The kitchen was nice, the food was good, and the place was very clean. Most of the staff were competent. The coworking space was a bit uncomfortable, and one older Argentinian volunteer was aggressive for no reason, though I don’t blame the hostel for that. Awesome place, amazing people.

The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful, and the rooms were clean and quiet. I had a fantastic time. Amazing place, totally recommend it. Don’t hesitate to book if you’re coming to Camboriu or nearby cities.
