Convés Pousada

Everything was very clean and in its place, and the towels and bedding were bright white. The shower was hot, the air conditioning worked, and the bed and pillows were comfortable. Breakfast is well worth it, with generous portions of tasty food made fresh. It’s a pleasant, family-friendly place. We were first welcomed by João, the inn owner's son, who was wonderfully polite and helpful throughout. The owner treated us really well too. Sorry, I forgot her name! We’ll definitely be back.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The dirt was a shock as soon as we arrived. We got there at 12:30, but we weren’t asking to go to our room before check-in at 2 p.m. I asked if we could sit there, and the owner shouted from upstairs that it was the only option since we weren’t in a car. She immediately took the remaining payment for the night, so we sat and looked around. The cushions in the common area were moldy, and the sofa cover and hallway were filthy. Our towels were stained, and we killed three cockroaches in the room that night because of our dog. I was upset and wanted to call the owner, but by then I didn’t think it was worth it since we already weren’t getting along. In the morning, I asked for a tray to bring breakfast to the room so my dogs wouldn’t bother anyone. The poor woman in the kitchen had to call the owner to ask whether I was allowed to take one. I was horrified. Breakfast was just couscous with an awful-looking sausage. The only thing worth eating was bread with cheese and ham. The sandwich press was filthy, so you had to put the bread in without looking at it. I’ll end by asking the owner to listen to criticism and try to improve the place. If things carry on like this, you won’t have many customers. Everyone who arrives gets a nasty surprise, and I say that because the couple who came in after us had the same impression.

A very good location, peaceful and pleasant, with great service.

I loved the welcome we got. Everyone was so helpful, and I’d definitely come back!
