The setting is nice, but the rooms could use some work. Sand kept coming in from the street on the ground floor, and mosquitoes were probably the biggest problem. Breakfast was good, especially on the weekend. The owner is a great guy, though I wish the staff were friendlier.
Even with rain during our weeklong stay, the place felt magical. The decor was lovely, and the whole pousada reminded me of a charming little hotel in the Ecuadorian rainforest. Our room was very clean, and breakfast was great. It's just one block from the beach, and it has the kind of decor a pousada should have.
