Suíte Lagoa Bonita - Aconchego nos Lençóis!

The location worked really well for us. We didn't want to be right in the busy downtown area, but it was close enough to walk to the city center on our first night. The second night we took a taxi, which was easy and reasonably priced. Our room and the bathrooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. My daughters also loved seeing the animals around the property. Sunny, the owner, is warm and friendly, and treats both guests and staff with respect and professionalism. I wish I'd known sooner that Sunny also offers travel agency services, since I would have booked everything through her. My family and I had an excellent stay at Pousada Sítio Parque dos Lençóis. Highly recommend this pousada!

I only stayed two nights, which I regret. The pousada is calm and safe, with lots of birds, goats roaming around, and the owners' cute, sweet dogs. It's about 30 minutes from the center of Barreirinhas, with easy access. Sani, the owner, is kind and always available for advice, help booking activities, or a good chat over coffee. The staff are very kind too. Breakfast is generous, with fruit, cakes, tapiocas, and plenty of other Brazilian treats. Recommend!

The worst part was not sleeping because of the rats. In room N4, there was a strong smell of rat poison that gave me a bad headache, and I had to take medicine on the first day. For both nights of my stay, I heard rats constantly moving around above the room ceiling and couldn't sleep. That seemed to explain the smell. There was also a loose dog on the property that would bark and lunge whenever we walked by. It made us feel quite uncomfortable and unsafe, and at times we could only get past with a staff member accompanying us. None of this is mentioned in the hotel's description. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had.
