Comfort Suites Alphaville

The room itself was good, but the AC barely cooled it. The chair was broken, though they replaced it. The TV didn’t work at first, and they fixed basic TV, but Prime, Netflix and the other apps still wouldn’t work because they couldn’t finish setting up the network for some reason. There wasn’t any coffee in the room either. Breakfast was okay. I should’ve stayed at Bluetree Alphaville like last time. Bluetree had in-room coffee, better AC and amenities, plus a bigger breakfast with omelets made to order.

Nice stay, and I’d recommend it. The staff are friendly, and most speak English. Rain knocked out the wifi in my room, though, and it took a few days to get it fixed.

The elevators gave me the only real trouble during my week here. One day mine went all the way up to the 28th floor and stopped at every floor on the way before taking me back down, stopping at each floor again. Another day I had to climb all 10 floors to my room. That was my leg day at the gym! The desk clerk apologized, and I assume it was a temporary glitch, since they worked fine for my last two days. I enjoyed the stay and would come back. The location is excellent, with restaurants, shops, coffee places, a grocery store, banks and plenty of other businesses within walking distance. There’s also a large mall nearby. Security felt strong: there’s gated access, paid secure parking on site, and you need your room key to use the elevator for your floor. The front desk staff were attentive and friendly, and housekeeping was efficient. My suite was spacious, with a sitting area and large TV. The kitchenette had a mini fridge with a minibar, a two-burner cooktop, microwave, and basic dishes and utensils. There were plenty of Type N three-prong 110-volt outlets, including standard and USB charging outlets. American Type A two-prong or Type B grounded plugs need an adapter. The queen bed was comfortable, with nice linens and four pillows. There was another blanket in the closet, along with an ironing board, iron, room safe, and lots of hanging and storage space. The bathroom had strong water pressure, facial soap bars by the sink, and shampoo and conditioner in wall dispensers in the shower. The hot water was much too hot on its own, so you need to mix in cold water. Facilities include a fitness area with changing rooms and bathrooms, an indoor pool, an exercise room and a spa. There’s also a restaurant, a small convenience shop with self-checkout and card-only payment, and a barber or hair stylist shop off the lobby. The view from the tenth floor was great. There are 28 floors in all. One more thing, there’s a fun open market just a block away on Fridays, with food trucks and stalls selling all sorts of things, from plants to clothes, jewelry and essential oils.

The room bathroom was worse than many public restrooms I’ve seen. This place is disgusting, moldy, and unhygienic, and it could be harmful. I complained, but they moved me to an even worse room. The manager said all the rooms were like that. If hygiene matters to you, find somewhere else.
