I had a really bad stay here this week with my mom and husband. We had a three-twin room that was tiny, with no room to open suitcases, and very bare bones: just one hand towel and no washcloths for three people. The window faced a brick wall, and there were several dead flies on the sill. The breakfast tasted poor and was low quality. I’m vegetarian, and my religion prohibits pork, but an item labeled “bolinho de queijo” surprisingly had ham inside. We told the staff, but they didn’t correct the sign and didn’t seem to care. The front desk confirmed the tap water in BH isn’t safe to drink, yet there wasn’t a single free bottle in the room or a water filter in the hall. You need water to live, and you can’t drink the free tap water, so the hotel’s logic is “pay extra for water or die.” The front desk was adamant that this is normal practice. I stayed over 100 hotel nights last year alone and have visited more than fifty countries on every continent. I’ve quite literally never been somewhere where the water isn’t drinkable and there’s no free water option. When I raised this, the front desk was combative, reactive, and defensive. I strongly recommend avoiding this and staying somewhere else in BH.

The rooms are really nice, and this is a very good hotel in the business district of Belo Horizonte. The breakfast is the best in BH, if you believe Mayra at reception. Mayra is the best, she speaks several languages and is very supportive and friendly.

The breakfast was a real highlight, with lots to choose from, five kinds of coffee, and a lovely self-serve açaí station. My late check-in also started well, thanks to a friendly, helpful staff member. The room was basic, though, and the soap dispenser was empty, with no shampoo or hand soap. I also found the lobby much darker than the online photos suggested. The elevator’s constant “gling” as it reached the floor made the corridors disruptive.

Mayra greeted us warmly and had useful restaurant recommendations. We found the room spacious and clean, and breakfast had a great range of choices, with seating indoors and outside. The hotel is well located in Savassi, and the car park was at a recent price.

Eduardo at reception was especially great, and the staff overall were friendly, helpful, and very professional. I also really liked the calming room, excellent shower, and fab minibar. The location was great and breakfast excellent. We enjoyed our stay a lot and would recommend it!
