The breakfast had plenty of good choices, the cleaning was on point, and the restaurant and housekeeping employees were friendly and helpful. Reception was a very different story. The team seemed uninterested in helping me, barely looked me in the eye, and didn’t even return my good morning with a smile. When a colleague came over, they suddenly became cheerful and chatty, while I was still standing there. When I asked to move rooms because mine on the 5 floor faced a huge wall, I got an annoyed look instead of understanding. That room might have been fine for a single night, but I was staying longer. I’d booked 3 night and then extended to 4, and the desk staff didn’t seem pleased about the extra night either. There didn’t seem to be much planning for guests staying more than one night. I also saw the ladies at reception eating while standing there, and heard them talking about getting so wasted after work that they’d need to be carried home. That struck me as very unprofessional. For a chain this size in a large, well located city, I expected someone to speak basic English, but nobody could say a single word.

The location was excellent, and the staff were great in general, though the hotel reception staff weren’t especially nice. The twin beds were very small.

I was there for about 3 weeks on a work trip, and mostly had a good impression. The waitress and chef in the hotel restaurant were especially good in the evenings. Some other employees weren’t as good, though. The older short haired lady who worked at the hotel bar on many nights had a really bad attitude and seemed to find reasons to avoid doing what guests asked. I don’t think someone behaving that way belongs in hospitality. I’m a Platinum member of the Accor chain and stay at Accor hotels a lot each year, but I’ve never been treated like that before.

After 7 years away from Brazil, this was the best experience. The team and people were wonderful, and both breakfast and dinner were the best. Everyone was super friendly and always tried to help whenever I had a question. I loved it, and felt really emotional when checkout day came. Thank you all for making this my best experience ever. The old house where reception and the restaurant are is gorgeous, and the location is great. Breakfast was pretty good, and the service was friendly too. The rooms, though, are super dated. It looked like the hotel should have had major renovations five years ago.
