The rooms are spacious, which was the one good part. My hair dryer didn’t fit any of the outlets, though they brought me one after a while, so that was fine. Breakfast was poor. I ordered an omelette, but it never came, while people from the area who ordered later were served.

The rooms are roomy and clean, but that’s about where the positives end. This is an old hotel that seems never to have been updated, and it was one of the worst places I’ve stayed in a while. The four-star rating is misleading. Even on the 14th floor, noise from downstairs carries into the room, and the air conditioner is old and loud. The outlets are the old type, with no usable adapter because those aren’t allowed anymore. There’s just one newer outlet in the bedroom, but it’s for the A/C, so you have to choose between running it and charging your phone.

The buffet breakfast was really good, and the hygiene measures made me feel safe. Staff were kind and helpful too. The hotel is right in the heart of Savassi, with bars, shops, and restaurants within walking distance.

The hotel internet is painfully slow and keeps dropping. If you need it for work or anything else, it’s a problem. It feels like being back in the 2000s on a 128 kbps dial-up connection.
