The glass atrium is striking, and the hotel is well located. Breakfast was good, and the restaurant food was decent. The rooms are a little odd, with a kitchenette and cooker, though there weren’t any utensils in ours. I think you can ask for them, but who’s going to cook in a hotel room? The bathroom felt cramped too. They’re renovating, so there was a lot of dust in the hallway. Work seemed to be happening in scattered rooms on different floors, which made the disruption feel spread out. Also, unlike most newer hotels, you don’t need a room card to use the lift, so anyone can reach any floor, and it’s quite easy to pass reception unnoticed.

The breakfast was good, but the place seems to have seen better days. Our requested quiet room had only half a window. The other half was a partly open metal shade, which did nothing to block the noise. There was maintenance work going on, and the cleaning wasn’t great: the maid didn’t seem to do the floor or leave toilet paper. The windows especially looked unclean, and the ceiling light couldn’t be switched off completely. The kitchenette was useless without cups, dishes, pots, pans, or cutlery.

The lobby is lovely, especially the panoramic elevator, and the rooms were fantastic. The staff were great too. People in Belo Horizonte are usually so nice to tourists that this felt like a given. A surprisingly good hotel, and I’d recommend it.

The room was really clean, and housekeeping did a fantastic job. I liked the layout too, with a separate bedroom and a little hallway area. The glass elevator is cool, while the other one is practical but feels quite old. The rooms themselves are dated and could use a restyle.

There are lots of shops and restaurants close by, and the hotel restaurant is excellent. It has a few choices, including a delicious Angus Burger, and the included breakfast has plenty to pick from. The hotel is very clean, with a beautiful view from the sliding door and small balcony overlooking the water. I’d definitely recommend it and plan to stay again.
