We loved how close it is to the beach, and the place was really clean. The little kitchen came with utensils that were a big help. Paulo was attentive and very helpful, and we'll definitely return.

The room didn't feel ready for guests, and we couldn't stay there beyond the first night. There was dirt on the floor, cobwebs on the walls and ceiling, and dust in the refrigerator, which was rusty inside. The cabinet meant for toothbrushes was too dirty to use, and the dishes and kitchen utensils were so filthy we didn't dare touch them. The bathroom sink was also leaking at the trap. The photos and reviews honestly didn't match what we found, and the place looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in a while. We arrived at night with our family, slept there, then found somewhere else the next day. Paulo welcomed us and treated us well, and I was honest with him about the state of the room.

The owners were very friendly, the service was great, and the inn is in a good spot near the beach. The beach itself was really nice. But the room's hygiene was a problem: it seemed like nobody had swept after the last guest, the kitchen utensils were very old, and the dirty fridge made me feel sick about putting food in it. The fan blew dust instead of air, and the toilet wouldn't flush, so we had to use a pot. Hard to believe, but that's what happened. Go with an open mind if you're mainly there for the beach. If you want a comfortable room, I'd give it a miss.

Maitinga beach is wonderful, and you're practically on the sand, just across the street. Shops, an ice cream place, and restaurants are all close enough to walk to. Paulo was very attentive and polite, and I have no complaints about the service. The room, though, is small and hot. It has a working fan, but no curtain on the window, so daylight comes in as soon as morning breaks. There's a slow little two-burner electric oven, and the fridge does keep things cold. It's a very basic place for showering after the beach and sleeping. No TV.
