Hotel Serra Negra

A nice hotel.

Breakfast was very limited. I went down at 7 a.m. and there wasn't even bread left for a sandwich. The rooms are tiny, and the bathroom is worse, with cobwebs in the door corners and frames. During my three nights there, nobody made my bed or changed my towels. The air conditioning failed every day. I reported it at reception on the first day and was told they'd check it, so I slept with the window open. On the second day it still wasn't working, and they lent me a fan while saying they'd look at the AC again. On the third day it failed once more, so they moved me to another room. That unit showed an error and stopped too. I wouldn't recommend staying here to anyone, and it isn't worth what they charge.

The beds and mattresses were good, and parking was good too. The rooms looked “clean,” but the floor was dusty and smelled bad. The bedding and towels were awful in every way. Reception service was poor. The place has decent facilities, but the management is bad, so the value for money is poor. I didn't even need to see breakfast to reach that conclusion.

The staff were the best part, from reception to breakfast and room cleaning. Wanderson and the team went out of their way to help put together a surprise for my fiancée in record time. We liked the clean, functional room and the good breakfast, and I managed to make good use of the gym despite its basic equipment. We have a place picked out for weekends in Betim now, and we'd recommend it. One suggestion: the “wedding package” could offer more preset wine choices, even if the price changed.
