Pousada Jardim Alameda

The location suited me well, with a supermarket, bakery, and church nearby. I was happy with the service too. Great value for the money.

The hospitality was excellent. The rooms are simple, but offer good value for the price. It’s close to Vila Germanica and easy to get to.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

I gave it two stars because the hostess was great. The guesthouse itself deserves just one. It was clean, but the moldy smell was really strong. When we got to the rooms, we found that although they had bathrooms, there was no shower. Nobody told us this when we booked. There was only one bathroom with a shower for all the guests. The walls and floors were wooden and made a lot of noise. If you’re trying to sleep and someone gets up to use the bathroom, for example, I doubt you’ll get back to sleep quickly. Breakfast was poor too. The French bread was really hard and stale, the tea bag was moldy, and there wasn’t a single piece of fruit. I’d understand a shared bathroom in a hostel, but I’ve never seen a guesthouse like this. The service was great, but the facilities leave a lot to be desired. If they can fix some of these problems, which I find really unpleasant, I might recommend it. Otherwise, it’s better to stay somewhere else.
