Pousada do Francês

Our money and cell phone were stolen from inside the room, and the place felt very unsafe. People are always coming and going, so you can't tell who's with the inn and who's just visiting. Neither the owner nor the receptionist took responsibility or offered us any kind of solution. Be extra careful if you bring children. Don't leave them alone even for a second. Things can be replaced. I had already posted a review, but it was deleted and I was blocked. I'm posting here to try to warn other people.

The inn is lovely to look at, with all the greenery, but the rooms only have the bare basics. The towels were really poor, the minibar was empty and switched off, and there wasn't even a glass, unlike at most inns and hotels. We'd agreed over WhatsApp that we could arrive at 1 p.m. When we got there, the room wasn't ready, and the person said they hadn't agreed to it, only said they could try. I have proof that it was confirmed, so that was very unprofessional on the inn's part. The reception bathroom was clogged too.

We had a great stay! The staff were so lovely and helpful, and the inn felt really safe, with a great setup for families. There's a shared kitchen, a kids' play area, pools for adults and children, and we also enjoyed a delicious breakfast.

Both our room and the one next door were missing a cell phone. We locked our door before heading to the beach, but when we came back it was unlocked, the room had been ransacked, and money and a phone were gone. There were no signs the lock had been forced. We were robbed! The owner kept saying it was our word against theirs, and that if thieves can open safes, they can open a door without forcing the lock. The receptionist offered no answers and only translated for the owner. The service was terrible, with zero empathy. My wife tried to post a review, but they blocked her from commenting, even though her email was the one registered with the Pousada. I repeat, people from the Pousada stole from us!
